Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895
A design that maximises space and enjoyment, the Merry Fisher 895 was built with a distinctive style. Not only is the Merry Fisher 895 true to the sophisticated and practical design expected from Jeanneau, but the 895 model, with its high sided hardtop, ignites memories of old European fishing boats spotting the Mediterranean.
The hard-top design maximises space. With huge glass windows and a floor to ceiling rear cabin entry, the spacious feeling is impressive for a boat of this size.

Comforts
As you step aboard the new Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895, you are immediately aware of the spaciousness and luxury style. Boarding the vessel using the access way on the aft starboard side, you get the sense that the 895 is much bigger than the specifications suggest. Suitable for a small family, a couple, or a few mates heading off for a good weekend of fishing, the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 is both manageable and usable.
Two rear swim platforms straddle the twin outboards, giving way to a wide and comfortable gangway leading into the rear cockpit. At the stern, the outdoor living area is well thought out and roomy. Fitting in a lounge arrangement which covers three quarters of the stern and runs along the port side and ends with two smaller seats against the aft cabin window. The table can be easily dropped down to convert into a sun lounge. The Merry Fisher 895 really makes the most of every opportunity to create more space and expand usability. Make yourself comfy with the plush cushions and enjoy yourself a beautiful afternoon in the sun, after dining in the same spot.
The captain enjoys uninterrupted visibility from the driving position through to the rear cockpit, thanks to the huge floor to ceiling glass door. The driving position is extremely comfortable, and all switches and handles are easy to reach.
The cabin is inviting, with sunlight flooding the inside area through the huge door. The timber veneer is a luxurious touch and adds to the warm and light feeling of the space. With those beautiful big windows, the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 is also fitted with a sliding sunroof, bringing the outside to inside in true comfort.
A dining table on the port side can be setup by reversing the passenger forward facing seat and sliding it back against the companion way leading downstairs to the cabins. The seats are finished in grey upholstery while the table is made from a dark walnut. The look is both elegant and practical. A slide out draw under the rear seat is great for kitchen storage. The galley is small but functional. The Merry Fisher 895 can more than handle a few days at sea with the right preparations.
An outdoor barbeque is always a good idea and if you are planning regular overnight trips, it would be a good investment and could easily fit. With a fridge located under the helm seat, you and the family would be set for a week of cruising and total freedom on the new Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895.

The helm position offers 360 degree views of blue. The electronics are strategically placed in an easy to see arrangement, with a Lowrance unit and engine measurements at the centre. Trim tab controls are easily reached just sitting to the right of the wheel while the radio sits to the left.
The sleeping quarters are comfortable for captains and guests of the new Merry Fisher 895. Taking the three stairs down, you will find the spacious and airy main cabin. Large portholes running along the hull allow light to stream in. The hatch is fitted with a latch, allowing for air to enter the room. The bed is placed in the centre of the cabin with easy access to move around. With plenty of storage underneath the bed and a small cupboard, you won’t experience that cramped feeling in the space.
The stairs will also lead you to the head of the boat, where you will find the toilet, a sink and more storage space. The faucet doubles as a shower head and the entire room doubles as the shower. Here, Jeanneau’s expert innovation comes into play as you recognise how much more space and usability you get, with some very efficient design work.

Performance
The Jeanneau Merry Fisher range is not part of the Jeanneau power boat range. However, the Merry Fisher 895 delivers impressive cruising range, while expertly handling rougher waters you might encounter out fishing. The hull has been beautifully designed to find this compromise, meaning that the Merry Fisher 895 is good on fuel consumption.
The power from the twin engine set-up is immediately obvious and pushes the hull onto the plane with ease. On the test day, with the guys at MW Marine, we cruised out through the heads at Sydney harbour and took on the oncoming swell and chop effortlessly. The day presented a few challenges and when a large wave hit the hull, the spray deflected beautifully.
The hull is extremely stable meaning both, a feeling of general comfort and safety, and a good night’s sleep.

Summary
Overall, the new Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 ticks most boxes on any Australian boat buyers list. No matter who you decide to set off cruising with, you will find yourself in a vessel that exceeds your expectations in every way. The Merry Fisher 895 is where Australian boating memories are made.
